Death in the Principality of Liechtenstein

If a Liechtenstein citizen or a foreigner resident in Liechtenstein dies in the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Liechtenstein Civil Registry Office is notified by the Office of Public Health by means of a medical death certificate.
Subsequently, the Liechtenstein Civil Registry Office draws up the death record (inheritance certificate), which is forwarded to the municipality of residence of the deceased person. This in turn collects the inventory and forwards the documents to the Princely Land Court for the probate proceedings.
