Sovereign borders

The sovereign borders with our neighboring states of Switzerland and Austria are regulated by treaties. The National Border Commission and the Civil Engineering and Geoinformation Office are responsible for the maintenance and updating - e.g. in the event of construction measures - of the national borders.

The exact course of the national border is defined by the so-called "Urkundenwerk".
