Obstacle free construction
Since January 2007, residential buildings for which an interest-free loan is granted under the housing subsidy program must be constructed to be easily adaptable. The requirements for easy adaptability include, among others:
The building entrance must be accessible without barriers.
Hallways must have a minimum width of 120 cm.
Stairs must have a minimum width of 100 cm.
Doorways must have a minimum width of 80 cm.
Any ramps must have a maximum slope of 6%.
Bathrooms must be designed to be accessible and adaptable.
There must be a minimum distance of 120 cm between two kitchen units.
