Subsidies for building construction

The Subsidies Act regulates for which buildings and facilities the state pays state contributions. Projects of national interest are subsidized if they are proven to meet a general need and are not transferred to municipalities for execution within the framework of the ordinary performance of duties. Justified proof of necessity, urgency, economic efficiency and expediency are the criteria for eligibility for subsidies.

Assessment of submitted projects and advice to subsidy recipients are part of the scope of duties, together with payment processing and acceptance of buildings and facilities. The Merkblatt für Subventionswerber von Hochbausubventionen provides information on the procedure.
