Pilot phase "Mental health of pupils"
In the coming school years, a monitoring system is to be developed in the Principality of Liechtenstein that focuses on the mental health of pupils in compulsory education. The aim is to develop a way to maintain and improve the quality of education not only in terms of academic performance, but also with regard to mental health.
In the 2023/24 school year, a pilot project on pupils' mental health was launched at Liechtensteinisches Gymnasium in close collaboration with the School of Social Work at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). This project is now to be extended to the compulsory school sector. In the current school year 2024/25, cycle 3 is to be examined, which is why online surveys are planned at all upper and secondary schools in the country: among pupils, school staff and also among parents and guardians. Cycle 2 will be examined in the 2025/26 school year and cycle 3 in the 2026/27 school year.
The results of the surveys will be used to derive recommendations for action at a national level. A school-specific results report will be sent to the participating schools, which will be used for internal school development processes.
