Intensive course: German as a second language
The intensive course German as a second language (IK DaZ) is one of the special school measures. The intensive course is aimed at new students who do not yet have sufficient knowledge of German. The goal of the IK DaZ is the integration of the participating children and adolescents into the regular school. For children under the age of 8, the IK DaZ is integrated into the kindergarten or the first primary class of the community school. The IK DaZ in the form of class or group lessons can attend students aged 8 to 18 years.
