Internal Market Information System (IMI)

The Internal Market Information System (IMI) is an instrument to support competent authorities in the European Economic Area (EEA), which are required to exchange information with the competent authorities in other Member States on the basis of administrative assistance provisions in various internal market regulations. It was developed by the European Commission together with the Member States.

In Liechtenstein, the EEA Coordination Unit is the National IMI Coordinator (NIMIC). It acts as an interface between the offices involved and is responsible for the smooth functioning of the IMI system.
