The Government Chancellery issues the following permits:

Permission to bear and use the national coat of arms


The Government may grant permission to use and display the national coat of arms to individuals or legal entities that are closely related to the public interests and character of the country and its people. Permission can only be granted if there are important reasons in the interest of the country and there is a guarantee that the national coat of arms will be used and maintained with honor.

Permission to use the arms, colors, seals and emblems of the Principality of Liechtenstein for commercial purposes


The use of the arms, colors, seals and emblems of the Principality of Liechtenstein for business purposes is subject to special permission from the Government. This also applies to the use of components and varieties of the coat of arms.
The Government may only grant permission if the reputation or other interests of the country are thereby promoted.

Prerequisites

For the permit, a written application must be submitted to the Government Chancellery. If the coat of arms or the national colors are to be used on printed matter, a draft must be enclosed.

The application is to be addressed to Mr. Peter Sele, Government Chancellery, Peter-Kaiser-Platz 1, 9490 Vaduz.

Fee

A fee will be charged for the permit, depending on the time and effort involved. The minimum fee is

  • CHF 100.-- for the approval of the national colors;
  • CHF 150.-- for the granting of the national coat of arms;

Approval of municipal coats of arms and municipal flags
Permission to use municipal coats of arms and municipal flags for business purposes may only be granted with the consent of the municipal council.
