Municipal school board
The municipal school board is elected by the municipal council for a term of office of four years. It is responsible for the tasks of the municipal school system, which includes kindergartens and elementary school (municipal schools). The school districts are determined for these two types of schools and the municipal school board has the right to nominate kindergarten and primary school teachers, head teachers and their deputies.
In addition, the municipal school council advises the municipal council on educational issues and assesses proposals for significant and fundamental changes in the education system, provided that the interests of the municipality are affected. Central tasks include the preparation of a municipal budget proposal for education to the municipal council and the control of municipal school buildings and facilities.
