Community School Board

The municipal school board is elected by the municipal council for a term of four years. It is responsible for the municipal school system, which includes kindergartens and elementary school (municipal schools). For these two types of schools, the school districts are determined, and the Municipal School Board has the right of nomination for the appointment of kindergarten and primary school teachers, principals and their deputies. In addition, the Municipal School Board advises the Municipal Council on educational matters and examines proposals for significant and fundamental changes in the educational system, provided that the interests of the municipality are affected. The central tasks include the preparation of a municipal budget proposal for the education and educational system to the municipal council as well as the control over municipally owned school buildings and school facilities.
