Refurbishment instead of demolition - the case for it
Every building gets old. In Liechtenstein, almost half of the 11,361 buildings with residential use (as of December 31, 2022, Office for Statistics) were built before 1981. This inevitably raises the question of what to do with the property. read more...

"Know where the heat is" - Thermography campaign successfully completed.
Energy price trends, security of supply and energy-saving measures - buzzwords that were on everyone's lips in 2022. Energy prices will still be high in 2023 and long-term reductions in consumption will be important. The thermography funding program is therefore entering a second round.
The thermography support program for older properties initiated as part of the Energy 2022 action plan was very well received. A total of 328 registrations were recorded. At three events, owners also received valuable information on the subject of building renovation and subsidies. At the subsequent drinks reception, experts were available to answer questions about the thermographic images themselves and how to proceed. The technical discussions were also met with great interest.

Amendment to the Energy Efficiency Ordinance: Government determines subsidies, Vaduz (ots)
In its last session, the government adopted the amendment to the Ordinance on the Promotion of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies (Energy Efficiency Ordinance).
On November 4, 2022, Parliament passed the amendment to the Energy Efficiency Act to introduce a minimum remuneration for electricity from photovoltaic systems. The amount of the minimum remuneration is regulated in the ordinance. With the amendment to the ordinance that has now been made, the government has set the minimum remuneration for electricity fed into the grid from photovoltaic systems with an installed capacity of 1 to a maximum of 250 kilowatts at 6 centimes per kilowatt hour. For CHP plants (combined heat and power), the minimum remuneration is 20 centimes per kilowatt hour.
The ordinance also stipulates that different investment subsidies are paid per kilowatt of installed capacity for the construction of photovoltaic systems with an electrical direct current capacity of 1 to a maximum of 250 kilowatts. These amount to CHF 500 for roof surfaces of new buildings, CHF 650 for existing roof surfaces or roof-independent systems and CHF 750 for vertical surfaces.
The ordinance will enter into force at the same time as the revised law on January 1, 2023.
