COVID-19 Vaccinations

COVID-19: Vaccinations available from GPs since July 1, 2024

After about three years, all COVID-19 vaccination services offered directly by the Principality of Liechtenstein were discontinued on July 1, 2024. In addition to the specially established vaccination center, these included vaccination offers together with partners such as general practitioners, special-care homes and the Liechtenstein National Hospital.

COVID-19 vaccinations are now being offered by doctors in their medical practices in the same way as other vaccinations. The costs of the COVID-19 vaccination are covered by compulsory health insurance. A co-payment is payable on benefits provided by compulsory health insurance.

Who can and should get vaccinated

- Vaccination is available to all interested persons 12 years of age and older
- Vaccination is strongly recommended to prevent severe disease progression persons over the age of 65 as well as particularly vulnerable persons with chronic diseases and pregnant women.
- Vaccinated is thereby a single vaccine dose of a vaccine adapted to the Omikron variant XBB.1.5, since it is to be assumed that children and adults from the completed 5 years of age with over 95% probability already had virus contact and/or are vaccinated. A basic immunization is therefore usually no longer needed, since this already exists in the immunological sense.
- Vaccination can also reduce the risk of post-COVID-19 syndrome.
- The minimum interval from the last vaccination or last confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection is 6 months.
- For severely immunodeficient individuals special vaccination schedules apply in close consultation with the treating physicians.
 - Seek advice from your health care provider regarding vaccination.
