Applicable Swiss Law

Due to bilateral agreements with Switzerland, Swiss legislation is applicable in Liechtenstein.

The applicable legislation is regularly published as annexes to the respective bilateral treaties, with Annex I promulgating Swiss national law and Annex II Switzerland's international treaties with third countries.

The Government Legal Services coordinates the periodic updating of the annexes, in particular to the Customs Treaty (Zollvertrag), and the promulgation in the State Law Gazette, in coordination with other Liechtenstein authorities and Switzerland.
