National Road Office (NRO)
The tasks and activities in the field of road traffic are:
- Contact, information and information center for Liechtenstein citizens and external partners (garages, driving instructors, insurance companies, companies, etc.)
- Issuing learner's permits and driving licenses
- Acceptance of theory and driving tests
- Issuing vehicle registrations (vehicle licenses and number plates)
- Technical inspection of motor vehicles and trailers
- Issuing special permits (transportation with excess weight and driving permits despite driving bans)
- Issuing parking permits for disabled persons
- Administrative measures against drivers and vehicle owners
- Administration of PSVA and LSVA, incl. representation on the Joint Committee of the Directorate General of Customs, Switzerland
- Representation of Liechtenstein in international expert committees and working groups
- Maintenance of the legal basis and transposition of Swiss and EEA law into Liechtenstein law

Location
Gewerbeweg 2 is located in the northwestern part of Vaduz, in a quiet industrial area. If traveling by car, drive north from Vaduz town center. Follow Landstrasse and turn left onto Kanalstrasse. After approximately 200 meters, turn left again onto Gewerbeweg. Number 2 is on the right-hand side. Parking is available on-site or nearby.
If using public transport, get off at the Vaduz Rheintalcenter bus stop. From there, it’s about a five to seven-minute walk. Follow Kanalstrasse north and then turn left onto Gewerbeweg. Number 2 is on the right-hand side.
On foot, Gewerbeweg 2 is easy to reach. Follow Kanalstrasse and turn left onto Gewerbeweg. The address is clearly visible. Should you require assistance, please feel free to contact us.
