Cabotage regulation of the European Union from May 14, 2010

With Articles 8 and 9 of Regulation (EC) No. 1072/2009, the EU has issued a cabotage regulation and put it into effect as of May 14, 2010. Euro license holders are entitled to perform cabotage operations under the following conditions:

• the cabotage may be performed following an international carriage of goods from another member state or a third country;
• after delivery of the goods, up to three cabotage transport operations may be carried out with the same vehicle - or, in the case of vehicle combinations, with the towing vehicle - within 7 days in the member state concerned.

For the performance of cabotage transports, the Euro license for the transport of goods is required.
