Due to the customs treaty between Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Swiss war material, goods control and weapons legislation is applicable to the area of import, export and transit for the items covered by the Weapons Act. This means that licenses are issued by the Swiss federal authorities. The accompanying certificate and the European firearms pass are exempt from this. These are issued by the national police for persons residing in Liechtenstein.
