Road safety
All reported accidents are recorded by the state police. This means that long series of measurements and detailed figures by type of accident are available.

In the area of road safety, significant improvements have been achieved over the last few decades thanks to targeted measures (in terms of vehicles, road infrastructure and traffic organization). Despite a sharp increase in traffic volumes, the number of road deaths has fallen and the number of people injured in road accidents has also decreased slightly. In relation to the sharp increase in traffic volume, road safety has improved considerably in recent decades.
