Accreditation procedure in Liechtenstein

Application

The application for Liechtenstein accreditation must be submitted to the LAS. The documents according to the Ordinance on Accreditation and Notification must be submitted

Assessor

The LAS shall notify the applicant of the assessors (commissioned foreign accreditation body / technical experts). The latter has the right to request other assessors.

Evaluation

The submitted documents are assessed by the assessor in advance. Then an audit takes place at the applicant's premises. The latter has to grant access and provide all information necessary for the fulfillment of the accreditation requirements.

Review by the Accreditation Council

On completion of the expert report, it is reviewed by the Accreditation Council. The latter makes a recommendation. if the recommendation is affirmative, the LAS grants accreditation; the accredited body receives a certificate. The duration of the accreditation is 5 years.

Environmental auditing

Once an accredited environmental verifier (one accredited in Liechtenstein or a foreign verifier recognized by the LAS) has assessed a site for environmental requirements, that site has the right to have the audited site entered on the EU list and to bear the designated EU emblem.
