Allocation / Reservation / Auction
License plates are issued at the counter when the vehicle is registered. A reservation is only possible for plates without a conspicuous number combination from the consecutive series. A fee of CHF 500.00 must be paid for a reservation.
Plates with low numbers (4-digit motor vehicle plates, 2-digit motorcycle plates) and plates with conspicuous number combinations are only available via the respective plate auctions. Auctions take place every 1 to 2 years and are published in due course in the national newspapers and on this page.
