Competence Center Data Protection
The Competence Center Data Protection is part of the Office of the Government Chancellery, directly subordinate to the Collegial Government. The ongoing supervision is exercised by the Head of Government. The Competence Center Data Protection supports and advises the public officials of the Liechtenstein National Administration (LNA), the complaints commissions and the commissions and advisory boards in matters of data protection. In addition, the following public companies shall be also the responsibility of the Data Protection Officer of LNA:
- Cultural Foundation Liechtenstein
- Liechtenstein Museum of Art
- National Library Liechtenstein
- Liechtenstein Development Service
- Liechtenstein National Museum
- Foundation for Adult Education Liechtenstein
- School of Art Liechtenstein
- Liechtenstein School of Music
- Agency for International Educational Affairs (AIBA)
The tasks of the Competence Center Data Protection primarily include raising awareness, advising and instructing the employees of the above-mentioned public bodies with regard to the legal requirements of data protection and its developments in the European environment. To this end, it works closely with the respective Data Protection Coordinators of the public officials and public companies as well as the Data Protection Authorities. The Ongoing monitoring of compliance with data protection requirements in the LNA is also part of its field of activities.
The Competence Center Data Protection, in turn, is subject to the supervision of the Data Protection Authorities (Datenschutzstelle/DSS), the supervisory authority in Liechtenstein. The DSS privacy
acts as a point of contact for citizens as well as for companies and associations, providing support and monitoring in questions and in the implementation of the regulatory requirements for data protection.

Peter-Kaiser-Platz 1 is located in the heart of Vaduz, within the government district of the Principality of Liechtenstein. If you are traveling by car, follow the main road (Landstrasse) toward Vaduz Center. Peter-Kaiser-Platz is well signposted and is situated directly within the government district. Parking is available nearby, such as in the underground garage of the government district.
If traveling by public transport, get off at the Vaduz Post bus stop. From there, it’s about a five-minute walk. Walk south along Landstrasse and turn left onto Städtle Street. Peter-Kaiser-Platz is on the right-hand side.
