Infrastructure Construction
The Infrastructure Construction Department of the Office of Civil Engineering and Geoinformation is responsible for all new and renovated sections of the existing road network in the Principality of Liechtenstein. For the most part, these are measures to improve traffic organization, i.e. to reduce the volume of motorized private transport and to give preference to public transport. Other measures serve to improve the infrastructure for non-motorized traffic, such as the additional construction of footpaths and cycle paths along existing country roads. The individual expansion stages are submitted to and approved by Parliament each year as part of the transport infrastructure report.
