State Planning

In Liechtenstein, versatile demands are made on space and its resources. The Office of Building and Spatial Planning coordinates all spatially significant planning and measures in the sense of sustainable development of the country, i.e. in the direction of an economically, ecologically and socially compatible use of space.

Spatially significant land use interests are controlled by the available planning instruments at the state and municipal levels. Spatial development and spatial planning refers to the summary planning for the order, development and protection of space at different planning levels. At the level of the State of Liechtenstein, it is referred to as national planning. The main concerns of national planning are described or depicted in the National Structure Plan and the Spatial Planning Report.
