International Lake Constance Conference IBK
IBK Award for Health Promotion and Prevention
Since 1999, the International Lake Constance Conference (IBK) has supported innovative projects through the IBK Award for Health Promotion and Prevention. The award recognises initiatives that strengthen public health and well-being across the Lake Constance region. Its aim is to encourage cross-border exchange between professionals and organisations and to highlight examples of best practice in health promotion and prevention.
Participating Regions:
- Austria: Vorarlberg
- Switzerland: Schaffhausen, Zurich, Thurgau, St. Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden
- Germany: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria
- Liechtenstein: independently represented since 2010
Award Structure and Prize:
The IBK Award is presented in several categories, with one winning project selected in each category. Award-winning projects receive prize money of up to EUR 3,000 and are presented to an international audience at a professional symposium. In addition to financial support, the award offers strong visibility and valuable networking opportunities with stakeholders from across the Lake Constance region.
.9th IBK Award 2026:
The 9th edition of the IBK Award attracted considerable interest. A total of 158 project teams from four countries applied in the categories «Heart and Attitude», «Stable & Established», «Fresh Thinking!», «Focus on People» and «Health 4.0».
Projects from Liechtenstein Nominated for the 9th IBK Award
The following projects from Liechtenstein were nominated by the national jury:
- «Sel Fit Exhibition» at the Gasometer by the Foundation for Social and Mental Health
- «Streetwork Liechtenstein» by the Sovort Foundation
- «love.li» by the Sexual Education Centre of the Sophie von Liechtenstein Foundation
- «Design for Neurodiversity» by Carola Mayerhoffer
- «Choir@Home», an Erasmus+ project by the University of Liechtenstein
The project «Streetwork Liechtenstein» achieved particular success, receiving third place in the «Focus on People» category.
IBK e.talk – Digital Insights on Health Promotion
As a complementary format, the IBK regularly organises the «IBK e.talk», a free online lecture series covering current topics in health promotion and prevention. Experts from various disciplines provide practical insights and professional perspectives on issues such as media use, nutrition and social participation.
The latest e.talk took place on 23 October 2025 on the topic «Internet Addiction – How Digital Media Are Changing Us», presented by Prof. Kai Müller. The lecture recording is available online: IBK e.talk Recording
