Building Law, Fire Protection and Energy Department

The Building Law and Fire Protection Department enforces the provisions of the Building Act and the municipal building regulations as well as the fire police regulations as a whole. The Office for Building Construction and Spatial Planning issues building permits. Together with the municipal building authorities, it also ensures that construction work is carried out in accordance with the law.

As the central building authority, the AHR is responsible for coordinating with other authorities and specialist departments as part of the building permit process. It is also the supervisory authority for the fire police of the municipalities and is responsible for the enforcement of energy regulations (excluding subsidies).
