UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

In September 2018, the Ministry for Society hosted the first national conference on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Following this, a legal opinion was prepared by the University of Innsbruck, which was presented to the organizations and authorities present at the second national conference in February 2020. Virtually all of the statements subsequently submitted welcomed the signing or ratification of the Convention.
The convention was therefore signed at the United Nations in New York on September 8, 2020. Parliament approved the ratification in the November 2023 session and the CRPD finally entered into force in Liechtenstein on January 17, 2024.

You can find information on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (also in sign language) on the website of the Federal Department of Home Affairs.
