Digital identity - eID.li

eID.li is the national digital identity of the Principality of Liechtenstein, with which natural persons can securely identify themselves and log in to electronic services. eID.li is a mobile identity solution, and the associated eID.li app is available free of charge for smartphones and tablets with iOS and Android. The eID.li is available to Liechtenstein citizens and foreigners alike.

In addition to the login function, the eID.li app contains digital copies of official documents, like a mobile driving license and others, provided the person is listed as the holder of such a document in the administration's registers. Currently the mobile driver's license and the cross-border commuter registration confirmation are available as digital proofs, provided the person is listed as the holder in the administration's registers. Digital copies of documents and the digital identity to login to electronic services, are two distinct and separate functionalities of the eID.li app.

The eID.li app has been developed according to the latest state of the art and is protected against unauthorized access and manipulation. It is bound to the mobile device used for registration by cryptographic measures. Therefore, the eID.li app can only be installed and used on one mobile device at a time.
