Psychologist
Field of activity
The psychologist's field of activity includes the performance of psychodiagnostic assessments, psychological counseling, the preparation of psychological reports and certificates, psychological prevention.
Professional suitability/ further training
The professional aptitude for practicing the profession of psychologist is possessed by those who:
a) has a consecutive Master's degree with psychology as a major subject from a recognized university or equivalent training and thus has sufficient theoretical and scientifically sound knowledge of mental disorders; and
b) can demonstrate at least three years of postgraduate practice-oriented activity in the relevant professional field under supervision, half of which must have been in a clinic, outpatient clinic or psychosocial institution.
Special features
When practising their profession, psychologists must restrict themselves to those psychological fields and methods in which they have demonstrably acquired sufficient knowledge and experience.
Licensing procedure and requirements
In accordance with Art. 7 ff of the Health Act and Art. 66 to 68 of the Health Ordinance.
