Who needs a permit?

Private care relationships and care facilities are subject to licensing according to the law. To ensure the quality of care, the Care Licensing Ordinance (LGBl 2009, No. 104) regulates the conditions and requirements for the care of minors. Private foster care relationships and out-of-home care facilities must be approved by the Office of Social Services before a child is admitted.

In the Guideline on Out-of-Home Care, the requirements for granting permits or maintaining out-of-home child care businesses and facilities such as day care centers, day structures, playgroups and herding services for day care families as well as for "Private Kindergartens" are defined in more detail.
