Contests

For the planning of state-owned buildings, planning competitions are usually held for architectural and engineering services. The possibility of selection from several project proposals is intended to ensure that a construction task is solved in the best possible way. Competitions are also held for the artistic design of buildings. Competitions are held either by negotiated procedure, non-open procedure or open procedure. Eligibility for participation in competitions is specified in the respective competition notices. Competitions are announced in the national newspapers and, in the case of contracts above the EEA/WTO thresholds, in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
