Legal basis

In the Principality of Liechtenstein, the customs treaty with Switzerland from 1923 means that Swiss legislation is directly applicable to foodstuffs, with a few exceptions.
The legal basis for food control in Liechtenstein is therefore based on Swiss legislation.
First and foremost is the Foodstuffs Act, which defines the core tasks in its purpose article, and the corresponding implementing ordinances.
