Blocking, deletion

Blocking

If misuse is suspected or if there are other reasons, holders of an eID.li can request that it be blocked free of charge at the Migration and Passport Office by telephone or on site. After the blocking, it is no longer possible to log in to electronic services and digital copies of official documents will no longer be displayed.

For security reasons, to unlock the eID.li it is necessary to re-register with the Migration and Passport Office, either on site or online using video identification (view now).

In case of a security-relevant incident, the Migration and Passport Office can block the eID.li on its own initiative.

Deletion

Holders can request the deletion of their eID.li free of charge with the Migration and Passport Office, either by telephone or directly on site. After the deletion means that the eID.li can no longer be used and all technical configuration and access data for the eID.li as well as all digital copies of official documents are permanently deleted.

The deletion is final and cannot be reversed. If there are important reasons, the Migration and Passport Office can delete the eID.li on its own initiative.
