The Liechtenstein Market Surveillance and Control System (MKS) is designed to, prevent unauthorized circumvention of certain goods across the open border from Liechtenstein into Switzerland switzerland.

To achieve this objective, the Office of National Economy (AVW) receives from from the Federal Customs Administration of all commercial imports of goods to recipients in Liechtenstein Import notification, which are processed at the AVW according to the MKS concept.

Since all import clearances are now recorded by electronic procedure, the AVW receives these notifications electronically.
