Health Care Insurance
Compulsory health insurance grants all persons residing or working in Liechtenstein access to medical care. It provides benefits in kind and in cash in the event of illness and accident, if such are not covered by accident insurance.
The premiums for compulsory health insurance are paid half by the employer and half by the employee.
Youths up to 16 years of age are exempt from paying the premium for compulsory health insurance.
Insured persons who have not yet reached the age of 20 do not pay any cost sharing. Insured persons who have reached the regular retirement age pay a reduced cost-sharing.
