European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG)

The European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG), as a supranational legal form, is an institution under European law and its sole purpose is to systematize, facilitate and develop the economic activity of its members, without making profits for itself.

The purpose of the EEIG is to facilitate the cross-border economic activity of its members. The EEIG may only carry out ancillary activities for its members and may not making profits for itself.

In Liechtenstein, the EEIG is structured as a partnership and thus it has no legal personality. The EEIG has the capacity to sue and to be sued, just as limited partnerships and general partnerships.

The EEIG must be entered in the commercial register.

The Office of Justice does not draw up deeds or contracts, except drawing up the public deeds required by law and providing assistance with the submission.
