The International Refugee and Migration Assistance (Strategy, in German) is focused on a sustainable and comprehensive approach to the global refugee and migration challenge. Bilateral activities focus on Balkan states. Persons in need of protection, including minorities, receive support for local integration and long-term improvement of their living conditions. In the overall consideration of migration, possibilities of circular migration, readmission agreements and visa issues are also addressed. At the multilateral level, compliance with international legal, human rights, and humanitarian standards is promoted for refugees, internally displaced persons, returnees, stateless persons, and other persons in need of international protection.
