Chauffeur Licensing Ordinance (CZV)

The Chauffeur Licensing Ordinance (CZV) has been in force since September 1, 2009.

In Liechtenstein, no separate certificate of competence is issued, but an entry is made in the driver's license (code "95") for the relevant category. A new driver's license must be issued for the renewal. This can be applied for by post or at the counter of the Office for Road Traffic after completing 5 days of further training.

Permit holders who applied for category C/C1 before September 1, 2009 will need the entry from September 1, 2014. Permit holders of category D/D1 who applied for the category before September 1, 2009 will need the entry from September 1, 2013. In order to obtain the entry, proof of the 5 course days must be provided before the respective deadline.

On the following website you will find all further information regarding the CZV, you will also find all exceptions to the obligation to register.
