Speech therapist
Field of activity
The field of activity includes the assessment and treatment of patients with complex speech, language, voice or swallowing disorders, taking into account the clinical-medical condition as well as advising relatives.
Professional suitability/further training
The professional aptitude for practicing the profession of clinical speech therapist is possessed by those who:
a) has a diploma proving completion of at least three years of training at a recognized training institution for speech therapy and
b) provides evidence of two years of practical experience in a hospital, a speech therapy facility or with a freelance speech therapist. Practical activities during training may be taken into account.
Authorization procedure and requirements
In accordance with Art. 7 ff of the Health Act and Art. 49 to 50 of the Health Ordinance.
