Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)
The Strategic Environmental Assessment Act (SUPG) has been in effect in Liechtenstein since May 2007. The purpose of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is to comprehensively identify, describe, and evaluate the direct and indirect environmental impacts of certain plans and programs, with public participation, while the planning process is still underway.
The Handbook on Strategic Environmental Assessment in Liechtenstein provides detailed information on how the SEA can be integrated into the planning process and is intended to assist authorities in the practical implementation of the SEA procedure.
