Biodiversity in agriculture
Agriculture has undergone a profound transformation in favor of biodiversity over the last two decades.
The Ordinance on the Promotion of Biodiversity Promotion Areas (Biodiversity Promotion Ordinance; BFV), introduced in 2023, serves to promote and maintain ecologically high-quality biodiversity promotion areas as well as the long-term connectivity of high-quality habitats on agricultural land. In addition, the ordinance serves to increase the ecological, and in particular the botanical, quality of biodiversity promotion areas and habitats.
