Liechtenstein economy shrinks

The Liechtenstein Economic Affairs Division weakened in 2022 compared to the previous year, following strong growth in 2021.

Liechtenstein's gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to around CHF 7.0 billion in 2022. Compared to the previous year, nominal GDP fell by -2.6%. In 2021, GDP had still grown by 20.2% and had fully recovered from the previous years of crisis. GDP measures the production output of a country. Gross national income (GNI) fell by -3.9% to around CHF 5.9 billion in 2022. GNI comprises the income of companies, the state and residents from work and assets.
