UNFCCC Reports

Decision 13 of the First Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP.1) specifies the data that must be made public under the Kyoto Protocol. This data includes, for example, a list of accounts in the registry and non-confidential information on account contents and transactions.

Information that is required to be kept confidential under EU Registry Regulation 389/2013/EU is not published.

(Paragraph 45 of Decision 13 CMP.1)

In addition, current data on accounts in the Liechtenstein Kyoto Registry can be accessed directly on the Website of the European Transaction Log (EUTL)

(Paragraph 46 of Decision 13 CMP.1)

There are no Joint Implementation projects in Liechtenstein. Thus, no ERUs are awarded.

(Paragraph 47 of Decision 13 CMP.1)

This reporting requirement is fulfilled through the publication of the Standard Electronic Format (SEF)

(Paragraph 48 of Decision 13 CMP.1)

In addition, up-to-date data on account holders in the Liechtenstein Kyoto Registry can be accessed directly on the website of the European Transaction Log (EUTL)

In accordance with Annex XIII of the European Commission (EC) Registry Regulation No 920/2010, the EUTL shall publish the following information on installations linked to operator holding accounts and on aircraft operators:

  • a. as of April 1 of the year (X 1), the verified emissions of the installation for the respective previous year;
  • b. After May 15 of each year (X 1), the number of surrendered allowances and CERs and ERUs surrendered by the entity to the national account to cover verified emissions for the previous year;
  • c. From May 1 of each year (X 1), a compliance status symbol. This symbol indicates whether or not the respective company has met its obligations to surrender a sufficient number of allowances for the verified emissions.

In addition, the number of allowances allocated to a company must be published each year.

The above data can be viewed directly in the EUTL sorted by operator or aircraft operator account.

For better clarity, a table of all Liechtenstein installations on the status of compliance is published here per year.

With the information on verified emissions, the public learns about the CO2 emissions actually emitted by an installation, calculated according to the approved monitoring methods and verified by an independent verifier.
