Use Peter Kaiser Square

General

The Principality of Liechtenstein is the owner of Peter-Kaiser-Platz, which is a continuation of the Vaduz pedestrian zone in the government district and connects the parliament building with the government building.

Peter-Kaiser-Platz is basically available to the public for the holding of public and non-commercial events, in particular events with a social, cultural and political background.

During sessions of the Parliament or other events organized by the Parliament (including its commissions and delegations), as well as during state visits and other official visits, on the state holiday, on high holidays such as Easter, Whitsun, Corpus Christi, All Saints' Day and Christmas, Peter-Kaiser-Platz is not available for public events, or only to a limited extent.

Approval

Simple use of the square (excluding structures and hospitality) does not require a permit, but does require registration with the Government Chancellery at least three days prior to the event. The simple use includes all activities that do not fall under the increased public use.

Events with increased public use require a permit from the Government Chancellery. In the case of increased public use, the use of the space by other users is significantly restricted or excluded. This includes, for example, the holding of rallies, the erection of mobile structures, facilities, seating and tents, as well as catering.

Further information and regulations can be found in the Benutzungsreglement and in the Nutzungsanleitung, which must also be observed.

Application

For events with increased public use, the Application Form (Situation Plan) from the Government Chancellery must be used. Applications for events with increased public use must generally be submitted to the Government Chancellery at least four weeks prior to the date of the event.

Fees

In principle, no fee is charged for the granting of a permit for the use of Peter Kaiser Square. A fee may be charged by the Government Chancellery if great expense is involved in the granting of the permit.
