Operational maintenance

The employees of the three Maintenance Depots  Vaduz, Triesenberg and Unterland are responsible for a wide range of work relating to the nationwide public road network.

  • Maintenance of a total of 103 km of paved roads
  • Maintenance of 21.5 km of natural roads
  • Maintenance of sidewalks and bike paths
  • Maintenance of approximately 160 LIEmobil waiting booths
  • Cleaning and/or mowing of green areas, rest areas, road surfaces, road surroundings, intersections and islands
  • Cleaning of approximately 4,050 inlet manholes
  • Rock clearing
  • Creation and maintenance of amphibian fences
  • Treating woody vegetation
  • Signaling and traffic control
  • Establishment of detours
  • Summer and winter standby service
  • Collaboration on major events (national holiday, sporting events, etc.)

A special infrastructure and organization is necessary to keep the road network clear for all road users in winter. The three maintenance depots take over the winter service in their maintenance districts and resort to the help of subcontractors if necessary.

The employees of the maintenance yards are not responsible for Keeping the clearances on sidewalks and main roads clear of plants in private parcels. This is the responsibility of the owners of the respective plots of land, according to Art. 94 of the Building Code.
