Structural maintenance
In view of increasing demands on the road network - more traffic, higher load frequencies, improvement of traffic safety, avoidance of congestion and reduction of environmental pollution - large financial expenditures must be expected for the maintenance of roads. Internationally, 1.5 - 2% of the replacement value is calculated annually for the structural maintenance and renewal of roads alone.
