Sign types and formats
Control plate types
The basic color of the control plates provides information about the type of vehicle or its special purpose.
Black plates
Vehicle for the transport of goods or people
Blue background
Vehicle that can be used as an implement only to perform a specific job, does not have a loading area and consequently cannot transport goods.
Brown ground
Vehicle which, because of its design or intended use, cannot comply with the provisions of the VTS (Ordinance on Technical Requirements for Road Vehicles) in terms of dimensions and weights. Vehicles with brown license plates are exceptional vehicles and may only travel with a special written permit.
Green reason
Agricultural vehicle (may not be used to perform commercial work, but exclusively for agricultural journeys)
