The scope of practice of the physical therapist includes:

a) the performance of active and passive treatment methods;

b) the application of physical methods to treat painful conditions or dysfunctions and limitations of body systems; and

c) the preparation of physiotherapeutic findings and reports.

Professional Qualification/further training

The professional aptitude for the practice of the profession of a physical therapist

possesses, who:

a) proves with a diploma the completion of at least three years of training at a recognized training institution for physical therapy and

b) proves a two-year practical activity at a physical therapy special department of a hospital or clinic or with a freelance physical therapist. Practical activities during the training can be taken into account.

 

Special features

The practice of specific therapy methods requires proof of the corresponding professional aptitude.

The physiotherapist is allowed to use the healing apparatuses commonly used in his field of expertise and registered according to the legislation on therapeutic products, and to use medicinal products for external use on patients.

The physical therapist is prohibited from diagnosing diseases.
