In the event of a vehicle registration card loss, a duplicate can be requested with the following loss notification. A fee of CHF 50.00 will be charged for the duplicate vehicle registration document

Data investigation
In cases where documents and data are no longer available, a "request for data investigation on vehicle data" can be submitted to the Office of Road Traffic. With the data investigation can, if data are found, an old vehicle possibly be tested again or be registered. The search will be charged with CHF 80.00, regardless of whether vehicle data are found.
