Peddling Permits

General

Whoever offers goods for sale or order to private households without being called requires a permit from the Office of National Economy. Exempt from the permit requirement are non-profit or similar associations active and established in Liechtenstein that do not pursue an economic purpose.

Prerequisites

For licenses involving the trade of goods on the move, the following documents must be submitted to the Office of National Economy with the application form:

  • Copy of ID or passport (the document must be valid)
  • Valid identification card for the traveling trade
  • Extract from criminal records (original, not older than 3 months)
  • A current proof of residence (not older than one year)
  • current extract from the commercial register (certified, not older than 3 months), if the applicant is not self-employed

Approval

The permit is personal and non-transferable. The goods authorized for trade are listed exhaustively. It must be carried at all times and presented on request to the consumers visited and to the control bodies of the country and of the municipalities.

The application is made using the Application Form for Trade in Goods in Roving. and must be submitted to the Office of National Economy, P.O. Box 684, Vaduz, at least one week before the start of peddling.

Time restriction

Trafficking in itinerant goods is prohibited

  • between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.; and
  • on Sundays and holidays.

Fees

The fees are calculated as follows:

  • Basic fee of CHF 50.- for the issuance of an identification card
  • Additional CHF 30.- per day according to the validity period of the ID card.

Goods excluded from trade

All goods whose trade is subject to a special permit or concession, or which are subject to special control in the interest of public safety, health protection, protection of minors, consumer protection or environmental protection, as well as animals, may not be offered for sale or order in roaming or uncalled to private households.
