Definition e-government

We understand e-government to be the use of modern information and communication technologies in public administration in order to be able to offer facilitated and/or completely new types of services in conjunction with the associated organizational changes as well as new capabilities for their customers. The services can be in the area from the customer to the administration as well as in the area from the administration to the customer . Based on the above definition, e-government is often also understood as a synonym for a modern and efficient administration.

The term "customer" includes not only citizens (government to citizen or G2C), but also other target groups such as, in particular, the business community (government to business or G2B) and other administrations at home and abroad (government to government or G2G).
