Movement-friendly schools can have a significant impact on keeping children healthy. In order to set effective measures, a study was conducted in 2021.

The given structures at the schools are one point. Ideally, these should be optimized in line with requirements. On the other hand, it is important to motivate teachers, but also to promote them through targeted further training measures.

Overweight and obesity in children and adolescents

In this cross-regional cross-sectional study in Liechtenstein (FL, N = 157) and in the canton of Schwyz (SZ, N = 261), the physical activity behavior of schoolchildren in everyday life was investigated on the basis of selected indicators.

The study is based on two representative random samples of 5th primary school children (FL: 10.4±0.5; SZ: 10.7±0.7 years) and was realized in autumn 2012.

It was conducted in 2012 under the direction of Dr. Jürgen Kühnis.
