Theory exam

General

The exam includes, depending on the category, the parts basic theory and for special categories an additional theory. The theory exams are taken on the computer. The basic theory can be taken early one month before reaching the minimum age. A passed theory test is valid since 01.01.2021 indefinitely. No test of the basic theory must take persons who already have a driver's license of categories A, A1, B or B1.

Applicants for the category F learner's permit are exempt from the (simplified) basic theory if they are holders of the category G driver's license.

The basic theory test for category M is also a simplified test.

Registration and admission to the theory test

To apply for a learner's permit or driver's license, send a completely filled out application form including eye test and emergency helper's certificate (exception to the emergency helper's certificate: categories M, G and F) to our office. After checking the documents, you will receive the admission card for the theory test by mail. You can find a photo sample board under the following link: Photo Sample Board.pdf
